For the last decade, I’ve been testing and reviewing hundreds of portable vaporizers to figure out which ones actually deliver the performance, efficiency, and reliability people expect.
Portable dry herb vaporizers have become one of the most popular ways to consume cannabis, and for good reason. A quality portable vaporizer delivers cleaner flavor, better efficiency, and helps you stretch your flower further than combustion. It’s also one of the healthiest and safest ways to consume cannabis.1

What is the Venty Vaporizer? If you’re looking for the best portable vaporizer currently available, look no further than the Venty vaporizer by Storz and Bickel. The Venty ($450) is a portable hybrid heating session-style vaporizer with excellent vapor quality, exceptional battery life, and one of the easiest vaporizers to operate/maintain overall. The only downside to the Venty is its overall size and weight. Physically and price-wise, the Venty vaporizer is for someone with deep pockets.
Heating and Temps – The Venty offers a full temp spectrum ranging from 104F – 410F (40C – 210C) and can reach temp in as little as 20 seconds. The heater for the Venty is roughly three times more powerful than the Mighty+ vaporizer and can really kick out some impressively quick sessions.
Free Flowing – The other feature that I like about the Venty is the new airflow dial, which adjusts the airflow of the vaporizer from nil to 20 liters a minute. I can literally pull as hard as I can, and the heater never drops temp. The airflow dial allows the Venty to be both a sipper and a ripper, depending on your usage.
Battery Life + Charging – Lastly, the Venty uses two 18650 lithium-ion internal non-replaceable batteries. I’ve been averaging roughly 10-12 full sessions with the Venty, which is absolutely nuts. The Venty charges via USB-C and can charge roughly 80% of the battery in 40 minutes with the Storz and Bickel supercharger.
Overall, the Venty is best of class in flavor, battery life, charging times, heat-up times, maintenance, and overall ease of use. The only downsides to this vaporizer are the price and overall size of the device. If neither of those cons bothers you, trust me when I say the Venty will be the only vaporizer you’ll need.
You can click here to check out the Venty directly from Storz and Bickel. I’ve finished up my full Venty vaporizer review, and I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts. If you’re not quite sold on the Venty, I recommend checking out the smaller, more portable Veazy vaporizer below.
Runner-Up: Veazy Vaporizer

Pros
- Pocket-Friendly
- Great Vapor Quality
- Easy To Use
- USB-C Charging
- Free-Flowing
- Fun Colors
- Dosing Capsules
- Dry Herbs & Concentrates
Cons
- Battery Life
- Slow Heat Times
- Cleaning and Maintenance
- Price
- Non-Replaceable Battery
What is the Veazy vaporizer? The Veazy is the latest portable dry herb vaporizer from Storz and Bickel offering a lot of the basic features that come with the Venty (Best Portable Vaporizer mentioned above) but at a lower price point. The Veazy vaporizer features a hybrid heater (session style) with a full temp spectrum available via a desktop/pc app, and roughly 40 minutes of average continuous use all in a pocket-friendly size with a few different colorways to choose from.
Venty vs. Veazy – The Venty still out performs the Veazy with a more powerful heater, longer battery life and a massive difference in airflow/lack of draw resistance but for the price and size of the Veazy, its honestly a great deal. I’ve been using the Veazy for a lot of activities where I know I wont need the extra battery life, i.e walking the dog or going to the dog park.
Veazy Looks – The Storz and Bickel Veazy is aesthetically pleasing and a nice break from the usual straight black outer shell that we normally get with the rest of the Storz and Bickel products thus far. The outer shell of the Veazy is made from high-grade medical plastics and the filling chamber is ceramic coated just like all over S&B products.
Charging + Battery Life – It takes roughly 40 minutes to charge the Veazy via USB-C to USB-C (no brick included) and I’ve been averaging 4-5 bowls on a fully charged Veazy battery. The Veazy also comes with the usual haptic feedback to let you know when the device has reached temp, when its about to turn off via the self-timer and when the battery is dead/low and needs charging.
Heating and Temps – You also get 3 pre-set temperatures that can be changed via double pressing the power button and each pre-set temp can be customized via the pc/desktop app like I mentioned above. I personally like the 3 temps that it comes with and haven’t changed them since I’ve been testing. I’ve averaged roughly 40 seconds for the Veazy to get to temps and that will vary depending on ambient temps, bowl size etc.
The Veazy retails for $249 and you can click here to pick it up directly from Storz and Bickel. I just finished up my full Veazy vaporizer review and ill be updating my Venty review with a comparison section as soon as I get some more testing completed. Hit me up in the comments with any questions.
Best Smart Vaporizer: Davinci IQ3

Pros
- Great Flavor
- Good for Heavy Users
- Track Dosage / Sessions
- Dosing Capsule System
- Replaceable / Rechargeable 21700
- USB-C Charging
- Pocket-Friendly
- 10-Year Warranty
Cons
- Charge Times
- Bowl Size (0.7g)
- Size / Weight
- Price
Who is the Davinci IQ3 for? The Davinci IQ3 is the perfect handheld vaporizer for someone looking for complete control over their sessions. You can micro-dose via the stainless steel dosing capsules and track your exact usage via the dosage meter. Everything is controlled via the smartphone app, desktop app, or the display on the vaporizer. If you’re someone who likes to dive into analytics or track metrics, the Davinci IQ3 is the portable vaporizer for you.
Free-Flowing Draw – My favorite feature on the new Davinci IQ3 vaporizer is the airflow dial, which allows you to adjust the resistance. Not only is it more free-flowing than the OG IQ, but I can also get even bigger hits now, especially when you use it with the WPA and a glass piece.
Battery and Charging Info – The replaceable 21700 battery system averages over 90 minutes of continuous use, making it a great vaporizer for long days. However, the battery charging system is the biggest downside to the Davinci IQ3 vaporizer.
Yes, it offers a replaceable battery system and excellent battery life per full charge, BUT it takes roughly 3-4 hours to charge a dead battery within the device. So if you are a heavier user, you may want to pick up an extra battery or two. There are 3rd party external battery chargers available, like the Nitecore i2, which will cut the charging time in half, but it’s an extra $20 accessory. If you need quicker charge times, I recommend checking out the Davinci IQC vaporizer in the “best session-style vaporizer” section, which offers USB-C charging and can fully charge a battery in around 2 hours.
Where I use my Davinci IQ3 – I enjoy using my Davinci IQ3 out on the trails, skiing, and biking, and again, the majority of vaporents will enjoy using this vaporizer, especially with your glass pieces. Lastly, the newer “Cool Core” flavor chamber design makes cleaning much easier and still comes with an industry-leading 10-year warranty.
The new Davinci IQ3 retails for $299, and you can click here to pick it up directly from Davinci. Use coupon code WIZARDFAM to save 10% on the IQ3 vaporizer. Check out my Davinci IQ3 vaporizer review for more info and lots of photos / comparisons.
Best for Value: POTV Lobo

Pros
- Great Taste
- Quick / Even Extraction
- Dosing Capsule System
- Replaceable / Rechargeable 18650
- Haptic Feedback
- USB-C Charging
- Pocket-Friendly
Cons
- Battery Door
- Slow Heat up
- No charging brick (Cable Only)
The POTV Lobo is a pocket-friendly powerhouse featuring great flavor, potent hits, and even extraction with no need to stir or mix. The Lobo uses a hybrid heating system, a replaceable 18650 3500mAh battery, and a full temp spectrum ranging from 320F – 430F (160C – 221C).
I use the Lobo vaporizer mainly for flower but it does come with a dosing capsule and concentrate pad for use with dabs. I tend to use the Lobo at home with the WPA and a bubbler but I have taken it out on hikes. The glass stems make it a bit tough to do anything crazy but overall, the Lobo is easy to use out on the go.
The Lobo excels in quick/potent extraction and has no problem finishing an entire .25-gram chamber in 4-5 hits, especially with a bubbler. I think the POTV Lobo is the perfect vaporizer for someone who wants a powerful vaporizer but doesn’t mind the 45-second average heat-up times and a glass stem.
I highly recommend checking out my full POTV Lobo review for all the details, comparisons, and tons of pictures. The Lobo vaporizer retails for $159 and you can click here to pick it up directly from Planet of the Vapes.
Best for Flavor: Tinymight 2

Pros
- Great Flavor
- Pocket-Friendly
- Full Temp Spectrum
- Replaceable batteries
- 3-Year Warranty
Cons
- Expensive Device
- Learning Curve
The TinyMight 2 is a portable convection vaporizer featuring a full-temperature spectrum, on-demand heating, and a replaceable 18650 battery system. The Tinymight 2 is one of the best-tasting portable vaporizers currently on the market and while it is a bit pricier than most, it definitely delivers on both performance and overall session experience. The TM2 is also pocket-friendly, easy to use in single-person or group scenarios, and features both session modes and on-demand modes.
Replaceable Batteries – The Tinymight 2 vaporizer features a replaceable battery system which means you can pick up a couple of extra 18650 batteries for use while out and about. The Tiny Might 2 vaporizer also features USB-C quick charging and haptic feedback to let you know when the device is heated up and ready to go.
Learning Curve – The only downside to the Tinymight vaporizer is the learning curve. It takes a few sessions to figure out the best temps, loading styles, grinding style, etc. But it’s definitely a rewarding experience once you have your sessions dialed in. If you’re the type that enjoys going down the rabbit hole, you will more than likely enjoy this vaporizer.
TM2 vs. Tafee Bowle – While I enjoy the Tinymight 2, I still reach for the Tafee Bowle mentioned below because its a lot easier to use and I actually like the cup idea but the Tinymight 2 is the more pocket-friendly option, offers a replaceable battery system and a bit easier on the wallet.
The Tinymight 2 vaporizer retails for $349 and comes with a 3-year manufacturer warranty. You can click here to check it out from my recommended authorized retailer. I’m currently working on finishing up my Tinymight 2 review and will update this section as soon as its out.
Best On-Demand: Tafee Bowle 2.0

Pros
- Amazing Flavor
- Excellent Build Quality
- Unique Design w/ Cup
- Free-Flowing Draw
- On-Demand Convection Heating
- Full Temp Spectrum
- Battery Life (30+ Bowls)
- USB-C (Quick Charge)
Cons
- The price is steep
- The Cup
- Portability
My all-time favorite on-demand 100% convection vaporizer is the Tafee Bowle by Tafee Technologies. The Tafee Bowle 2.0 vaporizer mimics the look of a larger piece of drinkware and, at first, can be a little off-putting, but the build quality, performance, and overall session experience are unmatched. Plus, it’s nice to have a refreshing beverage to sip on in between draws.
The Cup – The drinkware portion of the vaporizer is removable, leaving you with a puc-type base and a stem. They do include a shorter stem (Stubby Stem) for use without the drinkware, but overall, this isn’t the most pocket-friendly vaporizer. I consider this one more for at-home use. You can definitely take it with you on the go, but there are better options for pocket-friendly vaporizers. Just none that perform quite like the Tafee Bowle.
How does it work? The Tafee Bowle 2.0 works by loading the included capsule into the base of the stem and then loading the stem into the base or “puc.” The heater is located above the bowl/capsule, so air flows down over the herbs and helps keep the entire chamber cleaner. Most vaporizers place the heater below the chamber, which causes the herbs to stick to the screen rather than sitting in the chamber. Check out more info with a lot of pictures in my full Tafee Bowle 2.0 Vaporizer Review.
Lastly, the Tafee Bowle features a massive 5000mAh battery, and its battery life is very impressive. You can click here to purchase the Tafee Bowle 2.0 directly from Tafee Technologies. Use coupon code VAPWIZ to get a free Stubby Stem ($50 Value). You have to add the Stubby Stem to your cart and then enter the VAPWIZ coupon code.
Best for Battery Life: Mighty+ Vaporizer

Pros
- A+ Flavor
- USB-C
- East-to-Use
- Free-Flowing
- Long Battery Life
- Dosing Capsules
- Good Warranty
Cons
- Pricey
- Big Size
- Heat Up Times
- Slowish Charge Times
The Mighty+ (Plus) vaporizer is the bigger brother of the smaller Crafty+ (Plus) portable vaporizer and an upgraded version of the Original Mighty released back in 2014. The newest Mighty+ Vaporizer looks the same in shape and overall size but made some necessary internal upgrades to keep up with the current competition.
Mighty+ (Plus) Vaporizer (USB-C) Upgrades Include:
- USB-C Charging for quicker and more accessible charging options.
- Super-Charge functionality allows the Mighty+ (plus) to charge 80% of the battery in 40 minutes.
- Added a pre-set Superboost Temperature.
- Improved heat-up times to around 60 seconds.
- Changed the heating chamber to a ceramic coating vs. aluminum on the original Mighty vaporizer.
- Increased brightness and vibrance of the screen.
- Designed bottom legs to stand better with support from the stirring tool.
- 2 Year warranty + 1 when registering via the Storz and Bickel website.
- Changed outer heatsink fin design for better airflow and easier maintenance.
The Mighty+ Vaporizer offers an extremely long battery life for a portable dry herb vaporizer. The battery will easily last a full day of hiking, biking, or enjoying an outdoor concert. I average between 6-8 sessions on a full charge, and the unit will fully charge in about 90 minutes.
It’s also one of the easiest to use. The Mighty Plus has an on-vape, easy-to-read LED display and easy-to-use temp buttons on both sides. The full temp spectrum ranges from 105F-410F. Although the Mighty+ is a bit big for the pockets, the extra size and weight make it extremely easy to pass around and use in group scenarios.
Check out my Mighty+ Vaporizer Review for all the info and more pictures. You can also click here to buy the Mighty+ (Plus) Vaporizer directly from Storz & Bickel.
Best for Heavy Users: Arizer Solo 3 v2.0

Pros
- Battery Life
- Vapor Quality
- Ease of Use
- Cleaning / Maintenance
- USB-C
- Reliability
- All-Glass Vapor Path
Cons
- Portability
- Draw Resistance
One of my favorite portable vaporizers to use at home while watching shows on the couch is the new Arizer Solo 3 v2.0 vaporizer. The Solo 3 vaporizer is a portable powerhouse that comes with a WPA (Water Pipe Adapter) for easy hook-up with your glass pieces.
Battery and Heating – The Solo 3 features three hours of average battery life, a full temp spectrum, and a new auto-inverting screen that rotates when upside down. I’ve averaged around 15 seconds to heat to 392F and I was able to get 16 bowls on a single charge. The Hybrid heating system creates above-average vapor quality but the draw resistance is quite a bit higher on the Arizer models.
The Solo 3 kicks out massive clouds and is the perfect vaporizer to bring to a buddy’s house or sit and chill while watching Netflix. You can use it while it’s plugged in and never run out of battery life.
Lastly, the Solo 3 comes with a lifetime warranty on the heating element, a 2-year warranty against defects, and a 1-year warranty on the battery. Besides the glass stem, this is one of the most durable portable vaporizers you can own and will last a lifetime.
You can click here to pick up the Solo 3 directly from Arizer. Use coupon code VAPEWIZ20 to get 20% off. Check out my Arizer Solo 3 v2.0 review for more info, pictures, and comparisons.
Best Session-Style: Davinci IQC

Pros
- Price / Value
- Vapor Quality
- Fast Heat-Up
- Pocket-Friendly
- Full Temp Spectrum
- Dosing Capsules
- Great Warranty
Cons
- Cleaning
- Large Chamber
The Davinci IQC is Davinci’s newest portable vaporizer, loaded with great features and exceptional performance. It comes with a full temp spectrum via on-vape buttons, a replaceable 18650 battery system, USB-C charging, and a smartphone app for all the analytics and session options you could dream of.
I use my Davinci IQC vaporizer most on outdoor adventures (bike rides, hikes, camping), and it works great for small 2-4 person groups. The quick heat-up time allows me to get in a quick session on the trail and conceal it back in my pocket or backpack when I’m finished. It is a bit bulky for the pocket (on bike rides) but will fit perfectly in the top pouch of that killer fanny pack you’ve been rocking.
The biggest advantage of the IQC is the USB-C charging, and I’ve been able to fully charge a battery in a little over 90 minutes. That’s a huge improvement over the Miqro and IQ2. The IQC vaporizer also offers pass-through charging so that you can use it all day around the house. It works best with the water pipe adapter, the bubbler, or the new Davinci Hydrotube.
The Davinci IQC retails for $199 and you can click here to pick it up directly from Davinci. Use coupon code WIZARDFAM to save 20% on the IQC vaporizer. Read more about the IQC in my full Davinci IQC vaporizer review.
Most Pocket-Friendly: Pax Flow

Pros
- Pocket-Friendly
- Quick Heat-Up
- Durable Build
- Single / Multi-Person Use
- Easy-to-Use
- 2 + 2 Warranty
Cons
- Price
- Draw Resistance
- Cleaning
The Pax Flow is my most used portable vaporizer for mountain biking, hiking, and most of my summer activities. It’s easy to pocket and easily concealed, making it the perfect vaporizer for use on the go.
The Pax Flow, along with its smaller sibling, the Pax Mini, are two of the most durable portable vaporizers I’ve tested. If you only knew how many times I’ve dropped these things.
The Pax Flow is a great portable vaporizer when considering battery life, portability, durability, and overall ease of use. It’s also moved away from the proprietary charging cradle type system and now uses USB-C for quick, efficient charging. Honestly that’s the best change they’ve made in years.
You can click here to pick up the Pax Flow directly from Pax and I’ll update this page when I’m finished up with my Pax Flow review.
Best Under $200: Arizer Air Max

Pros
- Flavor
- Battery Life
- Full Temp Spectrum
- All-Glass Vapor Path
- Easy Cleaning / Maintenance
- Replaceable / Rechargeable 26650
Cons
- High Draw Resistance
- Portability (Glass Stem)
- Not for Heavy Users
The Arizer Air Max is the best-tasting and best-performing portable vaporizer under $200. The Hybrid heating system produces some of the best clouds and it’s by far the best Arizer Air yet.
The Arizer Air MAX is a pocket-friendly, hybrid heating, feature-packed portable vaporizer powered by a massive 5000mAh replaceable/rechargeable 18650. I was able to get 13 bowls on a single charge which is insane considering the size of this device.
I’ve averaged around 45 seconds to heat up to 380F and the Air Max has taken roughly 3 hours to fully charge via USB-C. The Air MAX includes the auto-inverting screen and works great with the included WPA and glass pieces, just like the new Solo 3 featured above in the Best for Home-use category.
If you’re looking for the best bang for your buck under $200, I would get the Air Max. The Arizer Air Max retails for $219 but the prices fluctuate depending on sales. You can click here to pick it up directly from Arizer. Use coupon code VAPEWIZ20 to save 20%.
Best Under $150: HR Rogue 2

Pros
- Hybrid Heating
- Good Price
- Great Flavor
- Easy To Use
- Dosing Capsule System
- Good Battery Life
- USB-C Charging
Cons
- Draw Resistance
- Little Hefty
- Non-Replaceable Battery
The Healthy Rips Rogue 2 is a pocket-friendly portable vaporizer with exceptional battery life, quick heat-up times, and faster-than-average charging via USB-C. The Rogue Vaporizer features a hybrid heating system, although it leans more towards conduction and a full temperature spectrum ranging from 280F – 430F. It’s also the bigger brother to the Health Rips Fury 3 which is a cheaper alternative with less battery life and smaller chamber but a little more pocket-friendly.
I use my Rogue vaporizer most on outdoor adventures like hiking, biking, disc golfing, or skiing because the outer shell is exceptionally durable, and the battery life will last me a full day’s worth of sessions.
The one downside to the Rogue vaporizer is the display screen can be hard to see on bright sunny days, and if you want to use concentrates, you’ll need to pick up the Rogue dosing capsules, which I talk more about in my full Rogue 2 vaporizer review. It’s also pretty heavy when compared to other units like the Pax Plus, Pax Mini, and the Fury 3 vaporizer.
Overall, the Healthy Rips Rogue is a great vaporizer for first-time buyers and heavier users. The Rogue 2 vaporizer retails for $139, and you can click here to buy it directly from Healthy Rips. Use coupon code WIZARDHR for 5% off all Healthy Rips dry herb vaporizers. Rogue 2 Budget Alternative: Fury 3 Vaporizer Review
Best Under $125: Fury 3 Vaporizer

Pros
- Pocket-Friendly
- Affordable $119
- Easy to use
- Quick Heat Times
- Good Battery Life
- Dosing Capsules
- Good Warranty
Cons
- Draw Resistance
- Non-Replaceable Battery
The Fury 3 vaporizer ($119) is currently the best portable vaporizer in the $125 price range offering a full temperature spectrum, hybrid heating, and great battery life for the size. The new Fury 3 offers a 2300mAh battery vs a 1600mAh battery on the POTV One and makes it a viable upgrade when compared.
I use the Fury 3 vaporizer most for outdoor activities like biking, skiing, and also quick walks with the pup or visits to the dog park. It’s pocket-friendly, discreet and the included cap helps keep smell down if you’re leaving herbs in the chamber. It has surprisingly impressive battery life for the size and quickly charges in 90 minutes via USB-C.
Healthy Rips also makes the HR Rogue 2 ($139) which is in the best under $150 category above. It features a bigger chamber, more battery life and a more powerful heater for a slight price increase and overall size increase. This could be a good option for you if you will be using your vaporizer in group settings or with a partner. Check out my HR Rogue 2 review for more info.
There are a ton of accessories for both the Rogue 2 and Fury 3 to include water pipe adapters, mini-bubblers, dosing capsules, etc… all available directly from Healthy Rips. Read more in my Fury 3 Vaporizer review. Use coupon code WIZARDHR to save 5%.
Best Under $100: POTV One

Pros
- Great For Beginners
- Under $100
- Easy To Use
- Easy to Clean & Maintain
- Lightweight / Pocket-Friendly
- Hybrid Heating
- Dosing Capsule System
Cons
- Micro-USB Charging
- Non-Replaceable Battery
- Small Chamber
- High Draw Resistance
The POTV One is a very small, albeit powerful portable vaporizer. The POTV One is “one” of the most discreet portable vaporizers on the market. The feature I like most about the POTV One vaporizer is the lack of draw resistance. It’s one of the freest flowing portable vaporizers on the market, and that allows me to rip the shit out of this thing.
The POTV One vaporizer is powerful enough for your bongs and bubblers but also perfect for micro-dosing via the POTV One dosing capsules.
The Planet of the Vapes One Vaporizer features:
- Full temp spectrum with on-vape display
- Isolated vapor path
- Very low draw resistance
- Durable with a good warranty
- Extremely powerful for its size
Overall the POTV One vape can satisfy everyone, including heavier daily users or occasional novice users. The only downside to this unit is battery life per full charge, but it’s pretty decent for the size. I don’t think you can find a better vaporizer for the price, and POTV backs up the One vape with a 2-year warranty.
The POTV One retails for $99 and you can click here to pick it up directly from Planet of the Vapes. Read more about it in my POTV One review.
Best Under $75: Pax Mini Vaporizer

Pros
- Pocket-Friendly
- Quick Heat Up
- Good Value
- Good Warranty
- Easy to Use
- Easy to Clean
Cons
- Draw Resistance
- USB Charger
- Lack of Temp Options
The Pax Mini vaporizer is the smallest Pax unit yet. It is also the best portable vaporizer under $75. Pax units are some of the most robust portable vaporizers on the market, and over the years, I have used my Pax units more than most other portables.
I use the Pax vaporizers most for outdoor activities because the rugged outer shell keeps it safe from the oops moments. They are simple to use but do require a fine grind and regular cleaning for the best results. Get all the details in my Pax Mini vaporizer review.
Despite the lower price and smaller size, the Mini still heats up fast in about 20 seconds and still has up to 2 hours of battery life. The Pax Mini does have a slightly smaller bowl than the Pax Plus, so if you are a heavier user and want the larger bowl, along with more heating modes and accessories, the Plus might be worth the extra cash. You can click here to check out the Pax Mini directly from Pax Labs.
Best Under $50: XMAX V3 Nano

Pros
- Price
- Size
- Portability
- Ease of Use
- Quick Heat-up
- Fast Charge Times
Cons
- Small Chamber
- Hard to Load
- Small 1000mAh Battery
The XMAX V3 Nano ($49) is quite the portable vaporizer for the price. I’ve never listed a portable vaporizer under $50 on this page because the majority of them aren’t worth the money but the V3 Nano definitely is. There are a few quirks like the small chamber makes loading pretty difficult, and the screen needs to be cleaned frequently but overall I really like the vapor quality, the free-flowing draw, and the 30-second average heat-up times. Check out my full XMAX V3 Nano vaporizer review for all the details, comparisons, and more pictures.
The V3 Nano is a smaller, basic version of the XMAX V3 Pro vaporizer (best beginner vaporizer) and the NANO will work best as a single-person session-style vaporizer. The chamber is too small and the battery (1000mAh) won’t work the best for multiple bowls with multiple people. Think of the XMAX V3 Pro as your beloved piece that always does the job well and think of the XMAX V3 Nano as the one hitter that gets it done in a pinch. Both fill a void. I’ve been averaging around 25 minutes of continuous use with the XMAX V3 Nano.
The XMAX V3 Nano features one temperature spectrum (392F – 428F) with one operating button, a simple display system for battery life and temperature settings, and USB-C charging. You also get a one-year manufacturer warranty and haptic feedback.
Overall the XMAX V3 NANO is a great vaporizer for the price and I think it’s the perfect portable vaporizer for quick trips or for someone just entering the market and not wanting to risk a lot of money to see if they like it. The VAS (vaporizer acquisition syndrome) is real though. You’ve been warned.
You can click here to pick up the XMAX V3 Nano from my recommended authorized retailer. Hit me up in the comments with any questions.
Best Budget Option: Arizer Air SE

Pros
- Price
- 5 Temp Options
- All Glass Vapor Path
- Small Size
- Replaceable 18650
- Flavor
- Easy Cleaning / Maintenance
Cons
- Micro-USB Charging
- High Draw Resistance
- Plastic Shell
- Slow Heat-Up Times
The Arizer Air SE ($89) is my top pick for the best portable vaporizer if you’re on a budget. The Air SE features a hybrid heating system with an all-glass vapor path, 5 preset temperatures ranging from 356F to 410F, and an average 60-second heat-up time. The Air SE offers excellent vapor quality via the hybrid heating system and overall the Air SE is easy to operate, maintain, and keep clean. As with all Arizer portable vaporizers, there is a bit of draw resistance and it takes a long slow draw to get the best results.
The Arizer Air SE is one of the cheapest portable vaporizers offering a replaceable battery system and the big 3350mAh 18650 provides 80 minutes of continuous use. Unfortunately, the AIR SE uses micro-usb charging so it takes some time to fully charge the battery within the device. The good news is that Arizer offers replaceable batteries and a dual-battery external charger so you can always have a battery charged and ready to go. The Air SE vaporizer also offers pass-through charging as long as you have a small charge to begin with.
Overall the Air SE is a great vaporizer for the price and perfect for someone wanting a replaceable battery system without breaking the bank. Smallest Vaporizer: Davinci Miqro-C

Pros
- Pocket-Friendly
- USB-C
- Replaceable Batteries
- Good Flavor
- Very Small
- Easy-to-Use
- 5-Year Warranty
Cons
- Small Chamber
- Not for Heavier Users
- Warm Vapor
- Battery Life
- Cleaning
The Davinci Miqro-C Vaporizer is the smallest portable conduction vaporizer made by Davinci Vaporizer. It features pretty much everything that comes with the Davinci IQ but in a much smaller unit. You still get the four smart path options, which gradually increase temperature over the session, a precise temp option, boost mode, and the pearl, which actually works in the Miqro.
The Davinci Miqro features:
- Replaceable Battery System
- Full Temp Spectrum
- Two Mouthpieces (one recessed and one that doubles as a 10mm water pipe adapter)
- 5-Year Warranty
- The smallest battery-powered vaporizer that I have ever tested
It’s also one of the freest-flowing vaporizers in this price range. It doesn’t require too much effort to get a good draw as long as you keep it clean. I’ve been using the Miqro most during mountain biking, hiking, and nights out on the town because it’s easily pocketable, easy to use, and easy to load. It’s not going to be the best vaporizer for big groups or heavier users because of the battery life. Still, each battery will get you about 30 minutes of average battery life. So, three 10-minute sessions. If you think you will be using it in groups or on a heavy daily basis, you might want to consider upgrading to the newer Davinci IQC (read review).
The Davinci Miqro-C vaporizer retails for $99, and you can click here to pick it up directly from Davinci. Use coupon code WIZARDFAM to save 20%. Check out my Davinci Miqro-C Review for more info.
Best Beginner Vaporizer: XMAX V3 Pro

Pros
- $100 Price Point
- Pocket-Friendly
- Good Flavor
- Replaceable Battery
- USB-C Charging
- Quick Heat-Up
- Full Temp-Spectrum
Cons
- Small Chamber
- Not for Heavier Users
- Warm Vapor
The XMAX V3 Pro vaporizer is one of the best portable vaporizers for affordability when considering how many features you get. The XMAX V3 Pro features a replaceable 18650 battery system, hybrid heating (conduction and convection), a large 3.7v 2550mAh battery for long or group sessions, and charges quickly via USB-C.
There are “cheaper” units out there like the POTV ONE and XMAX V3 Nano (best under $50), and they are both very good units as well, but they don’t feature a replaceable battery system, nor do they offer the battery life available with the XMAX V3 Pro. The only downside to the XMAX v3 Pro is the overall chamber size, especially if you’re a heavier user or looking to use it in group scenarios. The V3 Pro is more for single-person sessions with the occasional group session.
The reason I picked the XMAX V3 Pro as the best portable vaporizer for beginners is because it’s very easy to use, features an easy-to-read digital temperature display, and there are no finicky loading styles or learning techniques to master. Just place some dry herbs in the chamber, set your desired temp, and you’re ready to go in less than 60 seconds. The top chamber also doubles as a funnel making it easier to load your precious herbs on the go without spilling everywhere.
The next step up from this device with a replaceable battery system would be the POTV Lobo listed above. The POTV Lobo offers a larger chamber for bigger sessions or group scenarios and offers better vapor quality when compared to the XMAX v3 Pro.

Pros
- Price
- Portability
- Vapor Quality
- Efficiency
- Build Quality
Cons
- Draw Resistance
- Butane Torch
The Dynavap M7 is a battery free portable vaporizer that uses a torch, lighter, or induction heater to vaporize cannabis. No batteries, no charging, nothing to tie you down. It may not be for everyone or every situation, but it’s incredibly reliable and consistent.
The Dynavap M7 works by heating the cap until you hear an audible click. Remove the heat source and puff away. The cap will click again when it’s cooled down enough for another session. I like to use my Dynavap vaporizers while out camping or in places where I won’t be able to charge devices.
One of the features I like most about the Dynavap devices is that they are extremely efficient with your herbs and great for microdosing. The downside to the Dynavap vaporizers is that it takes a few sessions to master if you’re using a torch. That’s why I prefer to use Induction Heaters, especially at home.

Info to Consider When Buying A Portable Vaporizer
There are a few things to consider before buying a portable vaporizer, especially if you are new to the idea of vaporization. First, you need to ask yourself: Do I want a session-style or an on-demand-style vaporizer?
A session-style vaporizer is meant to vape an entire bowl in one sitting, usually over the course of 5 – 15 minutes. I like to compare a session unit to smoking a joint.
- They are generally more relaxing and casual sessions where you will take a dozen or more draws, and session vapes work great with groups.
- The majority of portable vapes are session vapes, including some of my favorite units like the Crafty+ and Mighty.
On-demand vaporizers have very quick heat-up times. I like to compare on-demand style vaporizers to hitting a bong, bubbler, or pipe. They are great for just taking one or two rips and going about your day.
- On-demand vaporizers thrive when you don’t have time or don’t want to spend time on a long session.
- They are also great for micro-dosing and are usually more efficient with your herbs.
- However, they are also known to be more finicky or take more practice/technique, so they are not always the best for group scenarios, or at least with inexperienced friends.
- The Tinymight 2 and the Dynavap units are good examples of on-demand vaporizers.
Next, how important are the size, weight, and overall portability factors? Do you need it to be portable, or will this be a home-use portable? If you don’t need it to be portable, I recommend checking out my guide for the best desktop vaporizers for something more stationary. If portability is the main factor, you may have to sacrifice some things like battery life.
Lastly, are you a heavier user? If so, find a portable vaporizer with long average battery life or one that offers replaceable batteries. While batteries have come a long way in recent years, they still won’t keep up all-day use.
Bonus Tip – Vaporizers perform a million times better when you grind up your herbs. Check out my top picks for the best weed grinders to get a few different options.
Convection vs. Conduction vs. Hybrid Heating
Last Note: It’s important to know the difference between convection, conduction, and hybrid-style heating when it comes to portable dry herb vaporizers.
- Convection vaporizers heat the air as it passes through the herbs while you draw. This means your herbs only get heated during the draw, and you are not constantly cooking them. Convection units, on average, have improved flavor over conduction units, something to consider if flavor is very important to you. Remember that convection-style vaporizers usually come with a bit of a learning curve, whereas conduction-style units are easier to use, especially for beginners.
- Conduction-style vaporizers transfer heat to the entire chamber via direct contact with heated oven walls the entire time the unit is running, whether you are drawing or not.
- Hybrid heating vaporizers utilize both conduction and convection heating methods. The hybrid heating method is a great middle-ground between full conduction vaporizers and full convection vaporizers.
Hybrid heating vaporizers still function similarly to that of a conduction vaporizer, meaning that you will still want at least 5-15 minutes to chill and sesh, and once you start a bowl, you will want to finish it. But you gain some of the improved flavor and vapor quality associated with the convection units. The Crafty+ and the Mighty+ utilize hybrid heating systems.
My Categories Explained
Best Portable Vaporizer Overall – The best portable vaporizer is the unit I use the most because it checks all the boxes. It’s easy to use, easy to maintain, and portability is a big factor. This is the portable vaporizer that I reach for the most and count on it to be reliable because it has to be. #oneandonly #dailydriver
Best Smart Vaporizer – This category will highlight the portable vaporizer with the highest IQ, pun intended. It will more than likely track dosages, feature custom options for sessions including flavor profiles, and will also feature an app in either a mobile or web type. If you are the analytical type and like to dig into the details, this category might be for you.
Best Value Vaporizer – The best value category will list the best bang for your buck portable vaporizer. It might not be the best at everything but it will do most things exceptionally will without breaking the bank. This category is great for first time buyers as well as experienced users.
Best For Flavor – This category features the portable vaporizer with the absolute best vapor quality, producing the best-tasting, smoothest, and coolest vapor. It’s easy on the lungs and this is the vape I reach for when I want to really taste my cannabis. Other vaporizers come close, but this category is for the true connoisseurs and features pure 100% convection vaporizers. #flavortown
Best Battery Life – This category features the portable vaporizer with the best battery life per full charge while also being easy to use, easy to maintain, and reliable. The portable vaporizer with the best battery life is perfect for those long-day adventures and can easily get a group medicated. Size isn’t necessarily a huge issue in this category, but it still needs to be semi-portable.
Most Pocket-Friendly Vaporizer – This vaporizer must be the most portable or “pocket-friendly” and the most rugged/durable. It needs to be able to handle a drop, and it needs to have decent battery life because I’ll be using it on the go. This is the vaporizer that I take with me hiking, biking, skiing, and anything adventure-related because I know I can keep it safely in my pocket.
Best For Home Use – The best vaporizer for home use category will list the best options to use while hanging out at home. The vaporizers in this category will usually work best for relaxing at home, watching some Netflix, enjoying some fresh air on the deck, or playing video games. If you think you’ll use your portable vaporizer more at home than on the go, these are the vaporizers to consider. #homeuse #dryherb #vaporizer
Best Beginner Vaporizer – The best vaporizer for beginners will be the easiest portable vaporizer to use overall and provide the best experience for someone just entering the vape market. I try to keep this section around the $100 price point so you can still get a quality portable vaporizer without spending much money upfront.
Best Budget Vaporizer – This section features my top picks for the best budget or “cheap” portable vaporizers. The word cheap can give off a bad vibe, but I assure you that these vaporizers are definitely not cheap in quality, only in price. They are great vaporizers, loaded with features and tested rigorously by yours truly.
Best Butane Vaporizers – This category features my highest-rated picks for portable butane vaporizers. Butane vaporizers work by heating herb via a glass stem (i.e. Sticky Bricks) or a cap system (dynavap). Other butane vaporizers are out there, but these are the only two I use regularly.
Best Portable Vaporizer 2026 Wrap-Up
I believe any of these vaporizers could be someone’s favorite. It’s important to know that not everyone will have the same opinion on the best portable vaporizer. It ultimately depends on your specific situation.
With that said, I believe the Storz and Bickel Venty, Veazy, and Mighty+ are currently the best overall portable vaporizers on the market for most people due to their ease of use and consistency. The best vaporizer for the person who wants replaceable batteries would be the POTV Lobo and the best vaporizer for the stealth user who is always on the go is the Pax Plus or the new Pax Flow.
