The Pax 3 vaporizer will be released at some point this October with no official date announced. I was lucky enough to get to get my hands on one this afternoon and I’m really liking the changes. The Pax 3 will retail for $274.95 ($5 cheaper than the Pax 2 launch) and be available in Black(pictured above), Gold, Silver and Rose Gold.
10/20/16: Just finished up my full Pax 3 Vaporizer Review
Key-chain multi-tool, flat mp, raised mp, lid, half-pack lid, concentrate insert
When you first open the Pax 3 box you will be greeted with 3 different oven lids which I am very excited about. Not only do you get the standard lid, but you get a half pack lid which is great when you don’t want to fill the entire chamber and a lastly, a newly designed concentrate lid.
You will still get 2 mouthpieces, although I only ever use the flat one personally, and a slick little key-chain which doubles as a poker.
When you first look at the Pax 3 you probably won’t notice a huge difference compared to the Pax 2. They are the same size coming in at 3.8 inches tall, 1.25 inches wide, and less than 1 inch deep.
Inside the concentrate insert with the lid off.
The oven and mouthpiece are the same sizes, so all aftermarket accessories for the Pax 2 will work with the Pax 3. I did notice the Pax3 is about 3 grams heavier than the Pax 2.
When you take a closer look you will notice the Pax 3 comes with a ‘Highly Polished’ finish compared to the ‘Transverse Brush’ from the Pax 2. I prefer the look and feel of the highly polished Pax 3, but I will be curious to see how well scratches and scuffs stand out.
Beyond the exterior differences, the rest of the new changes are all going to be on the inside of the unit. You get a roughly 17% bump in battery capacity (3000mAh to 3500mAh) you also gain a vibrate function, which I actually like more than expected. It is quieter and more subtle than most vaporizer vibrate functions so it’s discreet but still noticeable.
While it’s an overall minor detail, I do believe the Pax 3 vibrate function is my favorite out of all the devices I have. They heavily improved preheating time from around 45 seconds with the Pax 2 down to 15 seconds with the Pax 3.
The PaxVapor APP:
You will also gain Bluetooth which gives you access to the PaxVapor app. Before I continue I want to make clear known the App is completely unnecessary, it only adds extra functionality if you want to use it, but you are definitely not required to ever download install or use the app.

If you do decide to use the App, it will allow you to do a few things such set a custom 5th temperature setting, as well as update your devices firmware. You can change the LED brightness, change the vibration strength, you can chose which game your Pax3 plays (currently 3 choices) and lastly You can tweak the heating algorithm settings by picking presets such as:
* Boost mode which – keeps the oven hotter for longer with less auto cooling
* Efficiency mode – Ramps oven temperature throughout your session
* Stealth mode – Quicker cooler, stealthy lights
* Flavor mode – Flavor and battery life preservation, on-demand heating.
